Instagram, Darling!

Hello good fellows of the world,

Today I will be talking about Instagram. And some other stuff. If you can be bothered to read it, I will have written it. Obviously, otherwise you wouldn't be reading it. Gosh, I'm confusing myself now :/ Anyhow, I know Instagram doesn't make me a professional photographer (I mean, I'm not that stupid!), but it certainly does make my pictures look really nice. Here are a few example of my favourite pictures I made with Instagram over the past few days:

My absolute favourites are the two Diesel ones at the end. It's from my bag I got for my birthday last year. And yeah, the salt and pepper one is supposed to have my falling-down sister in the background. I think it gives the entire picture a more realistic feel. Don't even start about the humping dog bums, we had them on our windowsill (you're supposed to hang coats from them but NOOO, one of my sisters - or my dad - decided to make them hump eachother). Yeah, I have a normal family ;).

Nails, Glorious Nails

Hellooow everybody!

I have been pretty obsessed with my nails lately, I love them and really, really enjoy painting them etc. Of course, I'm not the best at them at usually stick to simple designs (rainbow nails, I love you <3), but I also like to challenge myself and do a couple of designs every now and then. Sometimes I follow instructions, for example by Cutepolish. I followed her mustache nails designs, since I totally adore mustaches at the moment. Here is what I did:

When I did these nails, I was so proud of them! I walked around with them for like a week. They've only just come off on Monday. And, since I was bored then, I decided to do another nail design. This time, it was my own design. Let's just say I was feeling very inspired, because, ever since, I haven't really had a lot of inspiring nail ideas. Boo-hoo :(

The lighting isn't the best (as you can see my skin looks yellow) and a lot of the lines are smudged since I don't have the best top coat in the world (boo-hoo), but I think it's pretty obvious that I went for a nautical theme and it worked out quite well. Yes, I do love my sailors ;) 

Review on Broadway Nails 

My last topic on nails is fake nails. There's a lot of views about fake nails (I know because mine keep changing ALL THE TIME), but I think that I've settled with that I like them. When my nails are all au natural they look fine; rounded and shiny and a lovely half-moon in front of my beautiful cuticle. I'm being honest - they really are that gorgeous ;) However, I really wanted to try out fake nails because my sister had an old box of Broadway nails that she doesn't use anymore with loads of nails left. So I decided to go for it (God, I hate when people say 'go for it!'). 

I really do like the end result: 

Pros of Broadway Nails (Real Life - Real Short):

• Perfect for everyday tasks.
• Wide range of sizes.
• Look natural.
• Clean break tab.
• Easy application.
• Easy to remove.

Cons of Broadway Nails (Real Life - Real Short):

• If too much pressure is put on them, they break off.
• The glue can be hard to get out of the bottle.

Obviously, there are more pros than cons, so I definitely recommend Broadway Nails to any beginner or professional fake nail user.

New Style, New Title

Hello everyone,

Now that this blog is my new everyday blog, so no more sims modeling..

I have decided on a new name. Well, not decided exactly since I still have to choose one, but I know I need to show my new look with a better fitting name. I mean how can this blog be called 'Belle Modele?' when I'm not a belle modele? ('bellle modele' is french for  'beautiful model')

So I'm thinking something along the lines of 

     - Dreamy Ramblings
     - Calm Little Dreams
     - Where My Dreams Lie
     - Castle of Bubbles
     - Pie in the Sky

I think it's pretty clear that it's supposed to be along the lines of dreams and illusions etc. Does this give the impression that my life is a dream? Because it isn't. Anyway, ideas which one is best or different ideas are welcome in the comments. In fact, comments are always welcome.

Also, I'm thinking of a new layout. I love this layout I have now but since I've got a new style of writing, a new title (soon) and so a new layout definitely fits in with this plan, don't you think?

Lastly, a week before I change the name, I'll put a big notice up at the beginning of every post so as not to let you guys forget ;). I've never changed names of blogs before, so I don't know if it'll show up and say 'this blog has moved to whatever.blogspot.com'. I don't know. Who cares??

Anywho, that's all for now. Since I'm in a writing mood, I might post some more later. Who knows??

Updating... UPDATED!

Hey guys!

It's that time of year again... when I'm bored. Which is basically most of the time. It's half term now, and I'm in my vacation house waiting to leave to go to some random musical I don't want to see. It's about the second world war. How darkly depressing is that? Lately, I have also been stuffing myself with cake and crisps, since my sister's birthday was yesterday and the cake was big. Like, really big. I have also been busy with trying to keep in shape, so as not to see the calories sitting cosily on my stomach from the cake. Two words: big mistake. I did a half-hour workout yesterday, and here is what I got for my trouble:

     1. Aching calves. Yes, I can barely walk - this morning I had to sliiiiiide down the ssstairs like a sssnaaaakeee (;p) and crawl to the kitchen table.

     2. Aching shoulders. It's hurting just typing this.

     3. Aching abs. No laughing for me :(

Oh well, I mustn't complain. I heard painful muscles are the result of a good workout. The next few days will be called 'Days of Pain'. Excuse my dramaticosity. My one tip for you guys: do a thirty minute warm-up & stretch before starting an intense thirty minute workout.

Now, y'all must be thinking - where's the sims relatedness to this post? Well... here, now that I've started about it. Anyway, the only sims I'm playing lately is sims social. I know, it's sad. Don't judge me!! Apparently there's something wrong with my computer, but I can't be bothered to fix it. So no more playing sims for me. Except on my sister's computer - when she allows it. Anyway, I don't want to abandon Belle Modele soooo...

Belle Modele will be my new everyday blog!

Or most days anyway. I've wanted a blog like this for ages, but never got round to it. Of course, it'll still be about sims, but a little more centered around my interesting (not) life. If sims ever does install, I'll post my updates here - no worries.

So, what's been going on in my little life? Erm... Eating cake, exercising (ouchy, ouchy, ouch) and looking at fake tan. Yeah, fake tan. Didn't I tell you how full of interestingosity my life would be? So, fake tan. I'm already quite tanned from myself, but it's not the beautiful golden glow you get from a couple of days in Mauritius or Miami. Nuh-uh. No way. It's more this greenish hue on my arms and a pale radiance on my face. The only thing I'm proud of are my legs. And who's gonna see them with the weather we're having lately? Right - my bed. My solution?

I'm joking. Can you even do that at 13? I'm guessing if I ask in a salon I'll get a face like this:

Are you getting my drift? Anyway, St Tropez and Simple Sun-kissed moisturizer are my solutions.

I haven't actually tried them yet, but I certainly will as soon as a Boots gets into my vision, if you know what I mean and I think you do.

Long Time No See, huh...

Hello everyone,

I know I haven't written in a really long time, and the reason is this - my game is not installing and I can't be bothered to have to find out the problem. I currently play Sims on my sister's computer, and she's quite a virus-freak so she won't let me install any CC in case of bugs :( Ah well, I might take a few pictures and try clothes & hair drawing ;)

I also need some advice, fellow readers. I really want nail art pens - but I don't know which to choose! There's a set of 38 colours for only £16.99 (link HERE) but I'm worried if the quality is good enough. There's another set from Rio that looks really good, for £24.99 (which is a bit expensive) but the quality will probably be better than the other one. Link HERE.

For advice on which to choose (or if you know a better one) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE leave a COMMENT BELOW ;)

I'm finally a Newbie on Unbound! I absolutely luuuuurve unbound - it's such a great fansite run by Bliss and Beech, so if you haven't joined it, I would definitely recommend it XD

Also, I'm reinstalling my game really soon (yes I know, I said I wouldn't but I am) because everytime I go on 'outfits' my game crashes -_-

GAAAAAHH - Rant on Windows -.-

You may (or may not - this is probably most likely) know that I have a mac, and I'm sure all mac users will agree with me on this....

Lately, my game has been crashing a lot and I really want to find out which packages are the ones crashing my game. And whilst I was casually browsing Unbound, I came upon this: the Useful Programs For Your Game And Help Links - which I thought would by really useful to help clean up my game, etc. etc.

Now what got me mad is that all of the things I had to download to work was tested and used only a Windows PC. DAAAAMN windows -_-  My mind went

"£(*%&@)($&%($)*@&$&$* )£(&£$)*@$£$£@(*))£?>"

And what reeeaaallllyyyyy gets me madmadmadmadmadmadmad is that (sorry windows users) windows is... kind of crap :/ Maybe not Windows 7 (because it's new and I use it at school) but other than that I honestly don't know a good type of windows.

Also, I would ask my dad for a Windows PC (because it's just so much easier because most people have windows) but he was so kind buying me and my sisters a Mac just three years ago, that I can't really ask for a Windows computer (especially since I'm already begging him to buy me a blackberry :P).

Sorry for my rant but I really had to get this off my chest.

Oh - if anyone knows a good sims3-game-help-type-thing that works on a mac, please tell me.

Victoria's Secret - The End

The final scores are up from Victoria's Secret and it's soo hard to say goodbye to one of the best competitions I've been in so far.. :( I really really loved it soooo much!! Victoria's Secret also helped me improve a lot from when I first started...

Ghehehe :P Darleymikey came second and Ladybug came third (same goes for them^^). LM, Mudfest & Me came fourth, fifth and sixth (not necessarily in that order though) and for the finals scores I came fifth and got reeeaalllyy good comments about all my pictures so that's goooood, and now I'm off to finish taking my pictures for the audition for Modello Per Sempre and I think I'll sign into some other competition too :)

New, new, new :)

Hey xx

Remember me saying that I was going to reinstall my game blablablaah ? Well, I have (kind of) fixed it - I can now download whatever I want. So... I have decided to keep going. In march, two new competitions are starting; 'Modello Per Sempre' and 'Hot or Not - Cycle 5' and I think I'm going to join them. Well, I have to get through the audition for Modello Per Sempre and I'm not sure if there is an audition for Hot or Not, but either way, I'm really excited and I'm going to try my best  :) (okay.. that sounds reeaaaaalllyy cheesy :P). This is what I have to do for the audition for Modello Per Sempre:

New Model

Hello everyone! I am back again! I have been a little bit MIA (well, a lot, actually) but that is only because I was having some fun creating my newest model, Fiona Vraimont!

Fiona was inspired by my new drama teacher, also called Fiona, who is quite pretty and has a bubbly, fun personality! To be honest, when I first started making my new model, she was called Heather Smith (because I wanted a model with a bit of a normal name), but halfway through making her, my brain clicked and I thought - actually, she looks a lot like Fiona! So I changed her name (I don't know real Fiona's last name, so I made one up) and got her looking like how she looks now.

I have made a selection of 'assignments' that I'm going to do with her, because she so pretty!! Here they are:

Victoria's Secret Finale Extended

Helloww :)

I'll start with sims 3 news: the finale has been extended by three days from Monday the 6th to Thursday the 9th - which means I have a whole wowzie wow 5 days to work on my three assignements (and, to be honest, isn't three just a little too much for a single person?) Anyways, I'm gradually filling up with ideas for the three assignments (though, too be honest, I'm struggling with the warrior one..) I'm really going to try my absolute hardest on these and start today :)

And, for some extra exciting news, I went to a disco yesterday! After school, I went to my good friend Elle's house with four other people and we had lots of fun getting ready and playing Just Dance 3 and sharing some goss, BROF!! Pardon mee ;) Anyway, then we went to the disco and it was a whole lot of fabulosity and then I went back to Elle's house with two other people and we had soooo much fun at the sleepover which was a raaaaavee!! Then this morning I had a good lie in and tonight I'm going to see OLLY MURS in the O2!!! I'm happy happy happy!!!

YBR drop out :(

Yes, it hurts my heart, but I've just dropped Yellow Brick Road and I feel really bad :( This is what I said:

I'm so, so, so, soooo terribly sorry - I've never done this before and I feel really bad, but I'm going to have to drop too. I know that you already have so many other dropouts, but I'm suffering with a really bad cold and being overloaded with homework, so RL's not being very nice to me right now  Anyway, once again i'm sorry  I hope you have a very successful competition and a lot of fun too.

I felt really bad but now I can start again. Also, I've had an incredible amount of visitors today so thank you everyone!!

New Layout

I'm really, really excited!!! Well, was, but I still have an excitemondo buzz buzzing around my body :) Anyways, as you can see I have a very, very nice new layout and I absolutely luuuuuuuuurve it! I have also updated my pages so that I don't have so many pages, just a 'portfolio' with most, if not all, of my pictures in it. If you want to, take the time to look at them.

And I have just had an idea full of geniosity... I will tell you how to get a pretty, (kind of) original template on your Blog.

1. Look up 'Blogger templates' in Google.
2. Choose one you like and download it (this should be pretty safe to do, but if you have doubts, don't do it).
3. Unzip the file.
4. Go to the old blogger and click on Dashboard -> Design -> Edit HTML
5. Back up your previous template by click on 'Download Full Template'
6. Find and upload the xml file you downloaded.
7. If there is a warning about your widgets, click on 'Keep Widgets'.

Scores Assignment 8 Victoria's Secret

Last... again. Sometimes I ask myself - why do I do this? I seem to only be decreasing in my abilities instead of improving... Also, I think I might drop Yellow Brick Road, clean up my computer with that MacKeeper thing, reinstall sims 3 and only download files I really trust, because right now everything seems to be going wrong. In fact, I've reached my decision and I think I will drop YBR because I am literally overloaded with homework, not to mention the fact that my immune system is really low and I'm at home trying to recover from a very bad, very annoying cold (i'm so sorry i'm troubling you all with my own problems so I'm going to just stop now :p).

Lotte looks truly sun kissed and sparkling smooth. :} You meet all the requirements except for telling a story...I cant read this image except for a girl lounging by the pool. I like simple photos as much as I love detailed ones, but you need to do it right; this image was simple but its missing some important elements…like the Arabian aspect. When I look at this image, I do not see anything Arabian and that breaks the theme of the assignment. Your model looks gorgeous and was styled nicely and I wish I could give you more points, but my statement still stands.

Comments: You still seem to be having a hard time getting your lighting right. Though it makes sense for it to be bright since Lotte is in the middle of a desert, but the colors are too vivid. If you toned down the saturation a bit then it might help and the water wouldn’t look so unnaturally blue. Her facial expression was super cute in a very modelesque way. Not entirely sure that made sense…I also would have like to see something more interesting going on in the background because once you look at the model there isn’t much else in the picture to look at. A little more on the set would help out with that and keep the picture interesting.

Here is a rough graph of how good I am at modeling whilst I have been doing it: (for fun because I am bored being ill)...

As you can see, I was okay, improved, then rapidly got worse. I think, after reinstalling and everything, I'll do some modeling but on a much smaller scale until I really get better, and not start doing bigger things until I'm really quite good. Then I might even apply to go 'work' in a sims 3 magazine. Also, I'm working on finding a template to make my blog look a little prettier, so stick around for some more improvements! Victoria's Secret Finale!!

OH MY GIDDYGODSPYJAMAS!!!! It's the final of Victoria's Secret! It's a three-part assignment and we only have a week to do it (why oh why?!) so it's going to be hard, especially as I have quite a full schedule this week. The assignment is...


Part 1: Backstage 
Quite a classic, right? 
For this part you need to show your model getting ready for a shoot. Does she drink coffee? Does she sit sweetly and patiently while they curl/straighten her hair? Show us! Please get creative- some ideas are way over used! 
Requirements: 
Getting ready- so she doesn’t have to wear lingerie/swimwear 
Be creative! 

Part 2: Who Run the World? GIRLS! 
Time to play the warrior princes! Amazon, Roman, Norse… Get out on the battlefield and show them who’s the boss! 
Requirements: 
Must include any sort of weapon- hammer, sword or something! 
Must show who owns the throne (metaphorically, of course!) 
Must be lingerie or swimwear- but you can still add armour 
Be creative! 

Part 3: True Colours 
Your models have been asked to show a lot, but we haven’t asked you to show their personality- until now. I want you to make one picture that shows us who the model is, through anything that is in the picture. 
Requirements: 
Show your models personality through colours, clothes, setting, makeup- everything! 
Must be lingerie/swimwear 
Be creative!

Important - Please Read!!

Hey everyone,

Before you start panicking and screaming and crumbling up pieces of cookie (which would be very sad), I just have to say - this notice isn't about me. I will not be closing down my blog, stop modeling, have a sad life or something (yeah - cuz everyone cares ^.^).  DON'T GO THOUGH!!!

I'm sure all of you reading this know a website called Picnik. I use it a lot for lighting adjustments etc. etc. Anyway, it's closing down. I saw it on the forums:

I just got an email informing me that Google is closing down Picnik on April 19, an amazing, free photo editing site. If you haven't heard of it, go check it out. If you have heard of it and used it before, then you know what it's like. I know a competition that had an assignment that involved using Picnik, and Picnik only. I've used it several times for my competitions, and it is amazing. It's quick and easy. What you have to mess around for 10, 15 minutes in Photoshop you can do in less than 5 for Picnik. Of course, more complicated things have to be done in Photoshop or Gimp, but for quick effects, auto contrast/color corrects, Picnik is my go-to site. It would be great if anyone could sign this petition:

Well, since I haven't updated in a long time, I just wanted to say... Not much has happened. I just handed in assignment 8 for Victoria's Secret, as you can see in the 'gallery'. I'm quite proud of it, but it's definitely not the best :P.

I've handed in the first assignment for Yellow Brick Road. I'm pretty proud of it, especially all the editing I did - I think it made it look really good :P But, still, all the other assignments are really good too... Anyway, the host, Mvande, got computer-banned for the next two days :( Also loads of the models haven't handed their assignment in yet, so it'll probably take a lot of time for the next assignment to go up - I'm just soooo excited and all! Maybe it's because I had some of my sister's Redbull and a large cup of coffee twenty minutes ago ... XD Either way, I'll not get to sleep till late tonight :}

Tomorrow two of my friends are coming over. For English, we're doing a marketing / advertising thing, and we had to make a chocolate and a presentation and a speech and an advert. Well, me and Jo had done half of everything at a sleepover and Dee couldn't be there because she was at the school ski trip, and Jo and I did the advertisement and speech together without Dee. Then Dee called this morning and she was really upset that we'd done the ad without her, so we have to do it again tomorrow. We have to do the presentation, and I have to edit the advert and everything, then we also have to make the chocolate, so tomorrow's a vair vair busy day. Also, I have three more pieces of homework :| Ah well, c'est la vie :)

Shop Me Stunning

There's this competition (you probably know it) called Shop Me Stunning on the forums where you get a picture and you have to edit it to make it look pretty. This is the very first time I've done it, and I'm quite proud of it actually. The picture we had to edit was this:

You could do non-hair editing too, but I decided to do hair editing because I've downloaded these really cool brushes for hair editing. Click here to go where you can download the set. (Yes, it does work for Macs too, I have one and it works great). And for you who don't know how to put brushes into Gimp...

 - Go into Gimp
 - Go to 'Edit' (next to 'Files at the top of the editing screen)
 - Scroll down and click on 'Preferences'
 - Click on the little arrow next to 'Files'
 - Click on 'Brushes'.
 - It should show you where to find your brushes folder, so go there.
 - Download the brush and then copy and paste into your brushes folder.

Ask google if you don't understand my way of explaining. :P

Anyways... My final picture was this:

Happy Late New Year :p

Welcome everyone to my first post in the new year :)

I've added a gallery of pictures of all the competitions I am in. That way, anyone who wants to see my work won't have to keep looking through all the posts to see what has happened. Also, because that means that you can see it, I'll just use my posting as a sort of Modeling Journal :P

Well, I'll start with that I've joined another modeling competition, The Yellow Brick Road, with a new model of mine, Lotus Bluesea. She's quite pretty (you can see her on the 'Who Are They?' page). If I win, I'll get 1000 simpoints worth of gifts. The second person gets 700 simpoints, third 300 simpoints, fourth 74 simpoints and the person who tried the hardest gets 25 simpoints. It's really exciting being in a competition which gives so many prices. There are also a whole load of models (all of them really, really good!) so it's tough too.

Also, I got eliminated in Crazy and Colourful... :( It's quite sad but at least I came up in fourth place, and I improved a lot. The people who are left are Drew, LM and Nuttychick. All of them are really good and it's a really close semi-finals. Me and Sugars are in the superr cool (not so) secret-lurkers group - we throw cookies at people and try not to hit the monkeys!! It's soo much fun :P

In Victoria's Secret I've handed in my assignment 7 picture. It's being scored, and this time I hope I won't come last (again:P). Yes, you guessed it, I came last in assignment 6 :} It was a tough round, we had to make a vintage pin-up picture.

Lastly, I got a really nice banner made by the amazing Mvande! She has the banner shop and she makes a whole load of things for people, and she did mine. She did mine a day - and she did it amazing. I love what she did, "the grass is greener on the belle side" is absolutely perfect. Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you, mvande. To go to her Banner Place (or whatever) click here.
