Nivea Lip Butter - Vanilla and Macadamia Kiss

Posted by FantasyPearl at 12:40 0 comments
Hello you ;)

(that's sounded really creepy....)

First off, this will be a short post.

The end.

Noo - I'm kidding! ;) It will be a short post - just not that short. Yesterday I went to Boots with a couple of my friends and bought a few things, among which was the Nivea lip butter Vanilla and Macadamia Kiss. I tried it immediately and only have good things to say about it. First of all, the taste is amazing! I had a praline hot chocolate once, and this tastes exactly like it. If I could, I would just eat it, that's how absolutely delicious it is.

The lip butter also felt so smooth and soft on my lips. You know how some lip butters are really sticky and heavy - well this one was NOT! I hardly noticed it on my lips. The hydration was also really good! My lips felt incredible after using this!

I adore this packaging! I have to admit, it is very small, but also so cute! The picture makes it look so creamy and smooth - exactly like how it is. Oh yeah, even though it is small, a little goes a long way and I'm sure this will last me a long time (if I don't use it every minute of every day ;)

The price was only £2.25 at Boots, which I think is the perfect price for such a good product! It's cheap - but not 50p cheap, you know - and not expensive either.

Overall, I definitely recommend this product and I will buy it again when I finish it.

Nail Polishes I Want

Posted by FantasyPearl at 15:49 0 comments
Hey guys!

(first of all, I'm ditching saying 'bonjour' at the beginning of a post - it's just so cliche and makes it sound like I'm trying too hard to be a good blogger... and also I realised i actually hate reading posts that start with 'bonjour')

So after that little rave... Who can guess what this blog post is about? I'm hoping someone can... Yes, you, in the back! What? Nail polishes you say? I wonder how you knew... I hope it isn't the title that's giving it away? ;)

I haven't bought nail polishes in months. Literally, the last nail polish I bought was Sexy Divide by Essie - which I love - but since then I haven't bought anything. And now that Spring is approaching - wait, that's not true - it's already here. March 1st is officially the day Spring starts. Anyhow, now that Spring is here, I am really getting the urge to go shopping for nail polishes. Especially Essie ones. Fiji, Miss Fancy Pants, Peach Daiquiri and Mint Candy Apple are all begging me to buy them. I have also been on the hunt for a really good nude and baby pink nail polish. I've seen the MaxFactor Glossfinity 'Desert Sand' nude colour and the Essie 'Lovie Dovie' and they look really good!

Here are the swatches of the polishes I want:
Essie Fiji

Essie Miss Fancy Pants

Essie Peach Daiquiri

Essie Mint Candy Apple

Essie Lovie Dovie

MaxFactor Glossfinity Desert Sand
(None of these images are mine - I got them off google!)

For Easter, I definitely want Fiji and Mint Candy Apple. They are so cute and definitely very easter-y! The problem is that these are so expensive! In Boots, all Essie nail polishes are £7.99, and the MaxFactor one is £5.99. They are beautiful, but do I really want to spend so much money on nail polishes? I think I do... But altogether it would cost £45.94. I'm not saying I can't afford this (I've got over £100 saved up), but I'm meaning to save up for an iPhone 5. So I'm stuck in a dilemma; spend £45 on nail polishes, or keep it in my stash for the iPhone 5?

'Written in Pink Caramel'

Posted by FantasyPearl at 17:32 0 comments
Bonjour!

After a 2-minute search on 'cute blog names' online and a flash of randomness, this blog is now officially named 'Written in Pink Caramel'. It's cute, simple and refreshingly loco.

Au revoir!

Bonjour!

Bonjour mes amis!

Well, hasn't that been a long time? I mean, hello! It's nearly the end of February, 2013, and I have only just remembered I actually own a blog. Am I a bit loco or what? Sorry for the different languages - I'm writing my French speaking and have only got as far as the first sentence. I'm not so good at French, if I'm honest. Oh well, c'est la vie ;)

So, big news (and no, my Sims game isn't working yet). I'm moving!

Wow. Yeah, it came as a shock to me too (not really, this has been going on for months). Not just moving houses either (although we are doing that too), but moving countries. From England to Holland, my home country - even though I only lived there for a couple years before going abroad. I know I've only lived in England five years, but it feels like my home, and - to be completely honest with, let's be honest, complete strangers - I don't know quite how I feel about it. There are a lot of pros (new bedroom and a rabbit, who wouldn't want that!?), but also cons. Leaving all my friends, for instance, and I don't think there is such a thing as Starbucks or Costa in Holland.

Oh well, as I said before, c'est la vie. And I'm sure it's going to be all that bad, I just have to wait and see. Turning over a new leaf is always a good thing, I'm sure. Furthermore, I get to decorate my room exactly how I want to! Yay! I can't paint walls or add / take away anything in my current room because this house is a rental and we can't :( So that's always a good thing! I have several ideas for beds/ curtains/ duvets & pillows/ carpets/ wallpaper!!! I'm so excited it's unreal! Here are just a few ideas on how I could decorate my new room:

Or maybe more simple?

And how do you like this bedcover?

I just love love love all these things. There's just so much to choose from when decorating a room... it's infuriating! What's also infuriating is the fact that I have acquired a rather small bedroom, which would only fit a single bed, or a bed that is 120 x 200 cm - and let me tell you, I don't want a single bed and a really nice 120cm one is practically impossible to get hold of.

Also, have any of you lovely (if rare) readers noticed the new layout? New year, new template, right? Although it is a bit late... Well, as someone very clever (or stupid, depends on how you look at it) once said, better late than never.

On that note, there will be another post up later today with some more things to ramble on about. Now, however, I must really get on with that French speaking.

Au revoir!

New Page

Posted by FantasyPearl at 17:37 0 comments
Since this blog isn't really a simming blog any more, I have made a new page (you can find the pages in the top left hand corner) and called it The Olde Simming Days. Take a minute to check it out if you want xx

Instagram, Darling!

Posted by FantasyPearl at 20:42 0 comments
Hello good fellows of the world,

Today I will be talking about Instagram. And some other stuff. If you can be bothered to read it, I will have written it. Obviously, otherwise you wouldn't be reading it. Gosh, I'm confusing myself now :/ Anyhow, I know Instagram doesn't make me a professional photographer (I mean, I'm not that stupid!), but it certainly does make my pictures look really nice. Here are a few example of my favourite pictures I made with Instagram over the past few days:

My absolute favourites are the two Diesel ones at the end. It's from my bag I got for my birthday last year. And yeah, the salt and pepper one is supposed to have my falling-down sister in the background. I think it gives the entire picture a more realistic feel. Don't even start about the humping dog bums, we had them on our windowsill (you're supposed to hang coats from them but NOOO, one of my sisters - or my dad - decided to make them hump eachother). Yeah, I have a normal family ;).

Anyway, tea calls me. I'll write soon.

Nails, Glorious Nails

Posted by FantasyPearl at 21:33 2 comments
Hellooow everybody!

I have been pretty obsessed with my nails lately, I love them and really, really enjoy painting them etc. Of course, I'm not the best at them at usually stick to simple designs (rainbow nails, I love you <3), but I also like to challenge myself and do a couple of designs every now and then. Sometimes I follow instructions, for example by Cutepolish. I followed her mustache nails designs, since I totally adore mustaches at the moment. Here is what I did:

When I did these nails, I was so proud of them! I walked around with them for like a week. They've only just come off on Monday. And, since I was bored then, I decided to do another nail design. This time, it was my own design. Let's just say I was feeling very inspired, because, ever since, I haven't really had a lot of inspiring nail ideas. Boo-hoo :(

The lighting isn't the best (as you can see my skin looks yellow) and a lot of the lines are smudged since I don't have the best top coat in the world (boo-hoo), but I think it's pretty obvious that I went for a nautical theme and it worked out quite well. Yes, I do love my sailors ;)

Review on Broadway Nails

My last topic on nails is fake nails. There's a lot of views about fake nails (I know because mine keep changing ALL THE TIME), but I think that I've settled with that I like them. When my nails are all au natural they look fine; rounded and shiny and a lovely half-moon in front of my beautiful cuticle. I'm being honest - they really are that gorgeous ;) However, I really wanted to try out fake nails because my sister had an old box of Broadway nails that she doesn't use anymore with loads of nails left. So I decided to go for it (God, I hate when people say 'go for it!').

I really do like the end result:

Pros of Broadway Nails (Real Life - Real Short):
  • Perfect for everyday tasks.
  • Wide range of sizes.
  • Look natural.
  • Clean break tab.
  • Easy application.
  • Easy to remove.
Cons of Broadway Nails (Real Life - Real Short):
  • If too much pressure is put on them, they break off.
  • The glue can be hard to get out of the bottle.
Obviously, there are more pros than cons, so I definitely recommend Broadway Nails to any beginner or professional fake nail user.
